What we do

ENCORE offers the opportunity to develop the following:

Confidence

It takes courage to stand and speak in front of an audience. Our theatre workshops encourage all learners to express their creative ideas in an interactive and nurturing setting.

Language and communication skills

Learners expand their vocabulary by playing different parts, learning poems and song lyrics and exploring different texts. Drama is a fun way for your child to practise reading out loud, enhancing their ability to read fluently and with expression, whilst discovering new authors, poets and playwrights.

Co-operation and Collaboration

Our drama workshops not only encourage physical activity, children also learn to work together, solve problems, develop verbal and non-verbal communication, negotiate, rehearse, perform and above all have fun.

Confidence and Self-Expression

The process of getting on stage, whether scripted or improvised, pushes you to be confident and fully express yourself. Over time, you build self-assurance and learn to embrace your unique voice and perspective, which can extend into all aspects of life.

Self-Discipline and Concentration

Drama games and creative movement improve self-control. Role playing, rehearsing, performing all require a sustained focus of mind, body and voice. These are great skills for life and learning.

Memory

Learning lines and movements, rehearsing and performing all play their part in strengthening the memory. These skills will come in useful in education and throughout life.
